A Stakeholder Consultation Forum is to take place at the beginning of 2014 for project participants who have been involved to date. At the Stakeholder Consultation Forum “Business and Biodiversity” it is intended that representatives from NGOs and companies work together with the authorities present at the forum and exchange their first ideas for collaborating together. NABU’s moderation concept for the forum is to allow participants from all three sectors to meet each other on an equal footing in partnership, get to know each other and break down any prejudices participants may have had about the other sectors. At the end of the “getting to know you” process, participants should develop plans for cooperating on projects to protect ecological diversity together. The discussions are therefore to take the form of plenary sessions, round table meetings inverted role-play sessions and working groups. It is expected that the stakeholder forum will result in the creation of the first collaborative projects between NGOs and businesses which will be followed up with ideas for the “business case for biodiversity”. To develop these first ideas further a competition of ideas is to be launched within the framework of the forum and two small projects are to commence.
